Volume 3 No 3

I’m sure that most of you have had family gatherings where uncles, aunts, cousins and grand parents all get together for a day of merriment, where connections are re-established and relationships strengthened. This usually happens on rare occasions like Christmas, Easter, or a family wedding. Food is usually offered in abundance, and there is much merriment.

As Christians, we are family, and God our Father invites us to a great family get together once a week, where songs are sung and we all get together to rejoice and celebrate. It is also set around a spiritual meal, where we are offered nourishment that leaves us feeling just as well contented. It is an opportunity to catch up with others and encourage, or be encouraged.

Unfortunately some do not see fit to accept the invitation as they feel they have more important things to do. This family gathering is called ‘Church’, and you have been invited. Some of you may not be aware that these gatherings are not just on Easter or Christmas! In the Epistle to the Hebrews we are warned “Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching” (Hebrews 10:23-25).

The church body is made up of many fellowships, and he doesn’t mind which you attend. Perhaps you didn’t realise that Face to Face is backed by a church fellowship called Grace Communion International (GCI), and that we have churches in many of the larger cities throughout S.A. If you have perhaps ignored his invitation for a while, and are looking for a church to attend, we have listed the contact names and phone numbers of our regional pastors, who would be happy to direct you to your nearest congregation of GCI. Otherwise I’m sure your church down the road would be just as pleased to welcome you home.

God would love to see YOU at his next family gathering. Will you be there?
