Volume 5 No 6

In this issue we have put together for you a spread of articles, with great variety like a sumptuous Christmas feast. A feast is good and enjoyable, but it is regular sustenance that keeps one alive.

Unfortunately the cost of printing Face to Face Magazine more often than every second month is just not within our means. However, there is some good news for those of you who have access to the internet and Facebook. A nourishing breakfast awaits you each day if you get onto Facebook, search for “Face to Face Magazine”, and ‘like’ the page.

Enjoy and give thanks to God for His abundance.

As we head into our December holidays, it is so easy to become distracted by so many side issues surrounding Christmas. Christmas proclaims that God is the light of his people from all eternity. When, in the fullness of time, Jesus came, it was to fulfil all the messianic prophecies concerning him. With Jesus’ first coming, the eternal morning dawned. In this we find great hope, for it brings with it the promise that ultimately all wrongs will be righted and all tears wiped away. Thus Jesus’ first coming carries with it the promise of his second.

Christmas is a joyous celebration of his love, his faithfulness, and the promise of the fullness of his kingdom at his second coming. Because of his birth, life, death, resurrection and ascension, the love of God dwells not just among us but also, by his Spirit, in us so that we may love one another with his love in the same Spirit.

Christmas is about the light and the love of God being sent to us in a most personal way—in the incarnate person of the Son of God, Jesus Christ.

I pray that as you and your loved ones celebrate Christmas with this fullness of meaning, you will find the joy, hope and comfort that come through our Lord’s presence.

Travel safely, have a blessed Christmas and may 2014 be filled with the richness of His true blessings.
