Volume 7 No 1
As I write this, the fireworks are exploding in the heavy Johannesburg night sky, heralding in a new year. January 2015 has arrived! January can be a month that begins more than just the new calendar year. As God’s beloved children we can use it to begin a season of deeper relationships with each other and God.
The book of Genesis deals with new beginnings. It sets out the beginning of this physical world, as we know it, the beginning of humanity and the beginning of family life.
Adam and Eve were in the Garden of Eden, a perfect paradise, but they let their guard down and the serpent struck the first of many blows against humankind.
It then also became the beginning of sin and disobedience to God, and the beginning of human suffering. But most importantly it became the beginning of God’s plan to redeem and restore humans to a relationship of love and fellowship with him.
This year will probably be much the same for each of us, a mixture of both the positive and negative aspects of our human experiences.
God pursues us in love, relentlessly. No matter what the year holds for you, he’s not going to give up on you, nor will his love diminish in the slightest. Let’s not let our resolutions to draw closer to him diminish either, but let’s keep him foremost in every aspect of our lives.
And with these new beginnings in mind, we offer an ever improving magazine for you to enjoy. A lot of effort is going into revamping and reworking Face to Face magazine over the next few issues, and we hope that you will find it uplifting and refreshing.
We will also be having daily devotional posts on our Face Book page. Why don’t you follow us there too? (https://www.facebook. com/facetofacemagazine). This magazine is for your upliftment and enjoyment; please drop us a line and tell us what you think.
May 2015 be a year of his rich blessings for you and your loved ones, the richest of all being a renewed understanding of the amazing, unwavering love that he has for you, no matter what the year holds.
In deep Christian love,
